Founded in 1975 in Crowley, Louisiana, by Edmund L. Habetz and his wife Cheryl, E.L. Habetz Builders has been a trusted name in construction for nearly 50 years.

The company’s origins stem from a personal experience. While building an addition to his home, Edmund hired a contractor who defaulted on the job and stopped paying his crew. Rather than abandon the project, Edmund stepped in, hired the unpaid workers himself, and completed the job.

That pivotal moment sparked the beginning of E.L. Habetz Builders.

Starting with residential construction, Edmund built spec homes throughout Acadia Parish, earning a reputation for craftsmanship, reliability, and hands-on leadership. By the 1980s, the company transitioned into commercial construction—a focus that remains central to our work today.
